VISION & CORE VALUES

The Vision of Hingepoint is

"to connect people with their God-given calling in Christ."

CORE VALUES

We are Desperate for Jesus

(Philippians 3:8, Romans 10:13, Philippians 3:10, Matthew 9:20-21, Matt. 9:27, Luke 5:12-13, Luke 5:18-19) When people encounter Hingepoint, we want them to experience being in the company of those who are desperate for Christ. Everything we are, every song we sing, every step we take hinges on Jesus. We are not merely intrigued by him; rather, we are desperate for his presence.

We are Audaciously Obedient to the Holy Spirit

(Acts20:22-23, Matthew 4:1, Romans 8:5-6, John 4:23-24, Galatians 5:16-18, Galatians 5:25) Even when it is uncomfortable or unforeseen, we follow the voice of the Holy Spirit, no matter how audacious he tells us to be. The Christian life is impossible without his guidance, as it is the Holy Spirit who helps us interpret scripture. He is the rhythm of the trinity as we move in sync with God.

We Preach and Live the Word

(James 1:18-23, 2 Timothy 4:2, Colossians 3:16-17, Mark 10:45, Colossians 4:5-6) We want to be a church that values scripture so much that our lives have to die so that the word can come alive. We believe that all scripture is God-breathed and applicable to our lives; in fact, it is our lives, not just something to mark off our checklist.

We are Relentlessly Committed to the Vision

(John 6:66-67, Acts 7:54-60, prov.28:1) Our vision is Christ, and we will not compromise our beliefs in the direction He leads us for people, comfort, opinion, or fear. We will push forward because we exist to fulfill the vision God has for us. We will run fast and run light.

We Bet the House

(Malachi 3:18, James 2:14-17, Hebrews 11) No risk is too big when God asks us to “bet the house.” We will risk everything we have, everything we are to see lives changed in our city and around the world. Safe will never be a word that describes us.

We Move the Flock

(Acts 1:7-8, Matthew 28:19-20, Isaiah 52:7, Romans 10:14-15) Our church will never be stagnant. When the Shepherd leads, we move the flock towards the distinct destination he has for us. Everything is on purpose, and when we move, we do so with composure and unity.

We Clear the Path

(Isaiah 57:14, Luke 10:30-36) Anything that hinders people from meeting and experiencing Jesus must be moved from the path. We don’t need people to meet our pastor; we need them to meet our Savior, and we will remove anything that pulls the focus away from Him.

We Make the Ask

(John 1:43-46, John 4:39-42, Matthew 4:18-22, Mark 2:14) One question can change everything. Asking is simple, but the result can be a life change. We are not afraid to ask hard questions, and we will never back down from asking someone to go from doing something good to doing something great.

We Raise the Next Generation

(Moses-Joshua, Paul-Timothy, 1 Corinthians 4:15-16) If we expect the work of the church to continue after we are gone, we must raise up a group of people to take our place. We believe that through one-on-one mentoring and excellent staff leadership, the next generation at Hingepoint will be ready.

We Speak Love Through Generosity

(Luke 10:30-36, Luke 6:38, Isaiah 32:8,Luke 12:13-21, Prov. 22:9, Deut. 15:11, Lev. 19:9-10, Deut. 24:17) Our church will always sacrificially go above and beyond to make sure the needs of this city are met. We refuse to proclaim how great Jesus is and do nothing. We want the world to see the love of Christ through action.
